The Hamley Studio of Fine Art runs a long pose sketch club on Thursdays. It features a life model who will hold one pose for five consecutive Thursdays (27.5 hours all up), which is the longest pose in any sketch club in Sydney. Our Thursday art group is not a class, but simply an opportunity for you to paint or draw from the live model for an extended period of a time in the company of other artists.

You are welcome to work in whatever medium you like and make as make as many artworks as you like. The long pose sketch club is booked in five week blocks (corresponding with each pose) and an easel place will be kept for you for those five weeks, but if there are free spaces you may move around the room to make pictures from different angles.
When do these sessions run?

10am to 4:15pm (with 45 min for lunch)
5.5 hours painting/drawing per day
5 weeks per pose

How much does it cost?
​
The sketch club is $295 for five days ($59 per day for 5.5 hours of drawing or painting).
​
We offer discounts for returning artists.

Who are these sessions for?
​
These sessions are for anyone who would like to paint or draw the model from life, and who would like an extended amount of time to do it. It's not a class, there is no teacher, just a group of people making art together. The five day pose gives you time to take artworks to a higher level of finish than is generally allowed for in other sketch clubs.

What do I need to bring?
​
Bring whatever materials you wish to work in. We have boards to attach paper to for drawing. You may like to bring some clips, but we do have some if you're missing them.
​
The studio also has some drawing and painting materials for sale if needed, but our offerings are limited, so it's best to bring your own materials.
