The Hamley Studio of Fine Art runs a long pose sketch club on Thursdays. It features a life model who will hold two long poses over the course of 10 weeks - one in the morning and one in the afternoon. You can sign up for the whole day, or for the morning or afternoon session only.

 

Our Thursday art group is not a class, but simply a social group that provides the opportunity for you to paint or draw from the live model for an extended period.​ You are welcome to work in whatever medium you like and make as make as many artworks as you like.

 

When do these sessions run?

THURSDAYS 

Whole Day: 10am to 4:15pm (with 45 min for lunch)

Morning: 10am to 12:45pm

Afternoon: 1:30pm to 4:15pm

How much does it cost?

​

The sketch club is $330 for a ten week term of mornings or afternoons only. A ten week term of whole days is $599.

​

Who are these sessions for?

​

These sessions are for anyone who would like to paint or draw the model from life, and who would like an extended amount of time to do it. It's not a class, there is no teacher, just a group of people making art together. The long pose gives you time to take artworks to a higher level of finish than is generally allowed for in other sketch clubs.

What do I need to bring?

​

Bring whatever materials you wish to work in. We supply easels, backing boards and can lend palettes for oil painting.

​

The studio also has some drawing and painting materials for sale if needed, but our offerings are limited, so it's best to bring your own materials.
